    Guwahati to Shillong

    On arrival at Guwahati Airport, you’ll be met and transferred to your luxurious hotel at Shillong on private basis (3 hours drive). Check-in and spend the remaining day at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

    Enjoy breakfast. Today, you can opt to explore the surroundings near the hotel as per your convenience. Visit the Umiam Lake. The lake is surrounded by the magnificent rolling hills of Shillong. You can enjoy a boat ride here.

    Later, you can visit the Khasi Village, located close to the hotel, for a stroll. Return to the hotel as per convenience and rest for a while. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

    Post breakfast, you can opt for a local sightseeing tour of Shillong. Return to the hotel as per your convenience. 

    Sightseeing suggestions: Visit the Shillong Peak, the highest point in Shillong, Elephant Falls which are at a close distance from the Shillong Peak. This waterfall acts as a prelude to the multitude of waterfalls along the entire stretch towards Cherrapunjee.Visit the Don Bosco Museum, the largest museum of Indigenous Cultures in Asia. Archery is a favourite sport amongst some circles and every afternoon from 15:15 till 16:15 hours, there is a competition at the ground. Also, explore the town of Laitumkhrah. In and around it are Shillong’s major schools and colleges, the Cathedral, cafes, shopping centres, a local market called "Iewduh", and little residential lanes.

    Day trip to Cherrapunjee

    After breakfast, you can opt to enjoy a full day trip of Cherrapunjee, the wettest place on earth. Cherrapunjee is 56 kilometers from Shillong.

    It is famous for oranges, honey, limestone, caves and cascading waterfalls overlooking the plains of Bangladesh. It is also the cultural cradle of the Khasi’s. After exploring Cherrapunjee, return to the hotel for the night.

    Visit the Mawkdok  Dympep View Point to capture some amazing views of the valley

    Nohsngithiang Falls a waterfall weaved in seven strands. Nohsngithiang Falls is the 4th highest waterfall in India.

    Visit the Mawsmai Cave which is the only cave in the State that is lit. Its large passages make it an easy cave to move across. The stalactites and stalagmites which have been formed over hundreds of years in this cave are a sight to behold.

    Visit Thangkharang Park, a well-loved picnic spot. There is a viewpoint within the park which offers a view of our neighbour, Bangladesh. You can take a walk around the park or just lie back and bask in the sun.

    Khoh Ramhah, a peculiar-shaped rock formation is believed to be the fossilised ‘Khoh’ of an evil giant who once lived in the Khasi Hills.

    Nohkalikai Falls, the fourth longest waterfall in the world. This waterfall towers to a height of 1100 feet (335 m). It is a major tourist attraction in Meghalaya. The water drops from a great height into a deep gorge and the sight is simply awe-inspiring.

Reputed to be the cleanest village in Asia, Mawlynnong with its cobbled paths bordered with manicured lawns and colourful hues of flowers, surrounding quaint thatched houses is a popular eco-destination.

    The Sky Walk, a bamboo platform built 60 feet up in the air offer a bird’s eye view of the green canopy that encircles the village and on a clear day a panoramic view of the plains of Bangladesh. A 500-year-old living root bridge and a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock are some of the other attractions that Mawlynnong offers.
