Visit the beautiful Taman Ayun Royal Family temple located at Mengwi. One of the grandest temples of the island, it was built around 1634 and is even surrounded by a moat. The words ‘Taman Ayun’ translate to ‘beautiful garden’, rightly named after the well-maintained gardens amongst which the temple is situated. Then, proceed to the holy monkey forest at Alas Kedaton. The small forest, around 6ha in area, contains a temple within its bounds, the Alas Kedaton temple. Monkeys flock to the temple and its surrounding areas. These monkeys are usually tame but tend to be active and noisy as well. The final stop and highlight of the tour will take you to the most famous temple in Bali, Tanah Lot temple that was built in the 16th century on a rock jutting into the sea. Any trip to Bali is incomplete without a visit to this temple due to its beautiful façade and the opportunity it provides for taking iconic photographs. The temple is a shrine to Balinese sea gods and is one of seven sea temples around the Balinese coasts. Since this is a half-day tour, the evening will be at leisure.

The morning and afternoon is free for you to choose from one of our optional activities or make plans of your own. In the evening, you will be taken to see the traditional Balinese Kecak fire dance. It is performed using only oral music without any other instrument, with the obsessive sound of a choir of men siting in a circle singing “cak-cak-cak” in the background. The dance depicts a battle from the Ramayana where the monkey-like Vanara helped Prince Rama fight the evil King Ravana
